The Rapture!

Thanks to all of you who have asked after us out here in Flood Central. We are actually high and dry, well out of the flood zone. The Captain has been away a lot, and it isn't looking like that situation is going to improve for the long weekend. But we are not facing the possibility of being evacuated, or at any risk of losing our home, so we can live with it.

With the flood not being a worry, my only legitimate cause for concern this weekend is what to wear for the coming apocalypse. As I will undoubtedly be one of the unfortunates left behind to suffer in chaos (ie. my normal state of being) for 5 months, it'll have to be something comfortable. But if the rest of my wardrobe is destroyed by this thing (so hard to know, since the useless Weather Network refuses to provide any coverage whatsoever), I'll want to be wearing something I won't be sick of by the time the zombies get me.

Jeans, or capris? T-shirt or roomy blouse? Sweater? Accessories? This is going to require some serious thought. In the meantime, I'm off to make dinner. I'll be needing one more taco salad before the world comes to an end.

You are too funny! My Mother used to teach me about the Rapture...All the children of God will just be gone. I'm a firm believer that no one can predict these things.

Glad where you live is high and dry! So many people are losing their homes here from the Mississippi River flooding! Where I live hardly ever has flooding so I am so thankful!

Hiya. I'm here in the Flood Zone this weekend visiting my Mom. Love all those huuuuge sandbags! When I drove across the Portage Diversion bridge on my way here, all I could think was "Holy Crap! It's full to the very tip-top brim!" It was kind of scary driving across, actually.

The Luck Of The Irish

As far as I know, I do not even have 1% Irish in me. The last time I looked into it, I found that I was 99.9% English with, I think, a tiny smidge of Scottish if you go back far enough. This, however, does not stop me from going hog wild on St Patrick's Day. I already have the beef marinating for my Steak and Guinness Pie tomorrow. This year, it seems I've cashed in all those lucky four-leafed clovers I found out back as a kid. In just over a year, I have won no less than FOUR blog giveaways! Real vs Fake

The Captain has only been gone 2 weeks. Already I've committed the ultimate marital sin. You hear stories about the things wives get up to while the husbands are serving overseas. The wife who moves a new guy in the minute her husband's gone. The wife who clears out the bank account and does a runner. The one who takes all his extra tour money and spends it on new shoes. I never thought I'd become one of those nuts who does something crazy while he's away. But I have. Yesterday, I bought one of these: Okay, fine.
