Time for a New Post??

I've spent a blissful hour this morning catching up and visiting with old blog friends. I've been gone a long time, I know. But so have some of you, so I know I'm not the only one who had a crazy summer!

Here's the latest from me:

My baby has gone off to kindergarten! Boo hoo! Unlike Firstborn, who mugs for the camera every chance he gets, RB doesn't look too thrilled in this shot (I'm finding it harder and harder to get him to look at the camera and smile at the same time), but rest assured when the bus showed up he was grinning from ear to ear.

I made the mistake of following the bus to school (yeah, I know...) and walking him to his class on the first day, despite the fact that I knew his home tutor/classroom aide would be dutifully waiting there for him. When he realized I wasn't staying for the morning he started crying and carrying on. He put on a pretty great show because by the time I got back to the truck to book it out of there, I was bawling like an idiot. According to reports, the second I was out of sight, he was having the time of his life with all the other kids. Rotten little jerk.

No doubt about it, this place has never been so quiet. I'm hoping it'll give me more time to fix up my falling-down house, craft like there's no tomorrow and blog a little more frequently again. Actually, I have a great story to share about those awful buzz cuts my kids are sporting. There's a reason RB likes to wear a hat...
 Stay tuned.

How do you not follow the bus the first day of kindergarten? My oldest was quite nervous about taking the bus when she started kindergarten. I followed that bloody bus for almsot three weeks!

So glad he settled in and had a good day.

Now, get back to crafting while you still have a quiet moment!
Enjoy your "me" time now that they're both in school!

Yes, it has definitely been a busy summer! Mine was mostly full of preparing for, having, and cleaning up after a yard sale. Now I'm filling the nooks we opened up with new-old stuff. Haven't been for a good, meditative walk with the dog in a long time.
Thanks for coming by, it was good to see your name in my inbox!
Following the bus to school!!!! The quiet time will do you good, maybe even have a nap or two. Can't wait to hear about what lies under the hat or doesn't. Enjoy your weekend.

Man oh man, I have missed your postings! I'm glad school has started and you will be around more! Love seeing pictures of the boys...they are really growing. Love the hat and can't wait to see what's under it. Take a minute and catch your breath, then I look forward to seeing more of you!

Here's hoping RB continues to have fun at school- and that you enjoy all the me time you can!
I cried so hard when Jaycee got on the bus this year. Luckily my hubby was there to support me. I think he cried a little too. But, I didn't follow the bus to school. In fact, we were warned by the principal at our orientation that we should definitely NOT do that.
