Why Rocks Make Better Pets

I spent a good hour making a pumpkin pie from scratch last night, using one of the pumpkins from our garden. I left it to cool overnight and then tried a slice for breakfast this morning. It's a good thing that I did.

When I came back out to the kitchen 5 minutes later, I found my pie plate looking mysteriously like this:

And Rusty looking mysteriously like this:

Someone is in grave danger of winning a one-way trip to the hot dog factory...

Awwwww...I think he's sorry. My dog favours baked goods too - she once ate a dozen oatmeal chocolate chip muffins I had left on the counter to cool.

oh boy! LOL - you got to give the dog an A for effort ;)

YOu live and lern - perhaps the pie dish should have been higher?

But then again - some dogs just don't care!

Don't be too hard - he was hungry

Some dogs are like that! When I was young, my father got a Brittany Spaniel. She lived with us only a short time: she stole steaks off the grill when Dad wasn't looking, and soon found another home!

Hi there Wendy!! How are you???
We used to have a black Standard Poodle, oddly enough named Paris!!
How original huh??
Anyway he LOVED Toblersone bars. When we were out one night he carefully unwrapped one of the big bars leaving the foil and cardboard behind in a neat pile on the floor.
And nothing happened. Narry a poop!!
A cast iron stomach...

Wendy you crack me up! Poor little guy... The dog always gets blamed. At least it was so when we were kids.

I feel your pain- I have a sneaky, tall dog who cruises my countertops when she thinks she can get away with it. Then looks very guilty indeed when food is discovered missing.

I can't remember how I got here tonight, but I'm glad I found your blog. I've stayed up too late reading your older posts and enjoying them.
