A Couple of Projects

It may be unnecessary to mention this, but these projects are completely unrelated.
We attended a birthday party for a one year-old on the weekend, and I've taken to knitting gifts for babies lately. I don't know. Those boxes full of little plastic bits and pieces that take the parents an hour just to unpack leave me a little uninspired. Plus, I worry that someone else will come with the same thing, and I never remember to get those gift enclosures you're supposed to ask for at the cash register. If I make something, I know they're getting something unique, even if they're too little to care. So, I made Po, the littlest of the Teletubbies. Rosemary's Baby seemed pretty interested, so I should really make one for him too, as soon as I can catch my breath.
My other project was to make 75 wedding invitations for Sister #4. This is why I am out of breath. It really was enjoyable, but boy I wouldn't want to do it for a living. I had so much fun using my awesome new Cuttlebug to emboss the front flaps, and the back of the invitation, envelope flap and response card all have a flower stamped in blue (all from Stampin' Up) to tie them all together. My sister is marrying a U.S. Marine and fell in love with a design on an invitation website. The price, of course, was scandalous, so we set about making something with a similar picture, but for a fraction of the cost. I mounted the drawing onto a slightly larger blue circle, then onto a white scallop circle I punched using a Stampin' Up punch, attached ribbons and voila! Multiply that by 75 and you'll know why my back hurts.
Anyway, I will follow up with a real post in the next day or so. Between the projects and the ongoing craziness of life, I'm a little pooped! Bear with me.

I've already admitted to having a shoe obsession , so you must've known this was coming. No one is obsessed with shoes and NOT also obsessed with purses. They're sister obsessions. This Post Brought To You In 1-Minute Increments

Still alive out here in the middle of nowhere! I've had some time-management issues this month that have made blogging and commenting near-impossible. The Captain has been away and Rosemary's Baby's tutor had to take a 3-week sick leave. Living where we do, there's no one to take over when our tutor gets sick. The major lesson I've learned from this is that MY KID NEEDS HIS THERAPY! Holy cow, he's been a little terror! I literally cannot spend more than one minute at a time on the computer or I go back upstairs to find the little monkey either raiding the cupboards and fridge of things he shouldn't have, or in the garage, trying desperately to figure out how to back the car out of the driveway for a joyride. He's suddenly napping at weird hours and appearing in my room expecting breakfast at 3AM. No-therapy-RB is killing me! However, all should return to normal next week and I am to be banished to the basement, as my presence on the main floor duri

Obama in Ottawa

Last night, we fought some crazy traffic and squeezed into the tiniest seats I've ever seen for a chance to hear Barack Obama speak. As you can see, we weren't wealthy enough to afford the good seats up front. Luckily, we had an excellent view of the Jumbotron! Let it never be said that Major Dad and I have the skills to take a good selfie... Those seats were seriously so tiny, the only thing that stopped me from getting up taking a walk to ease my back pain was the knowledge that the drop was so steep, jumping up might cause me to topple right off the balcony and be tackled by Obama's Secret Service detail. This is assuming I survived the fall. I truly don't know how Senators fans do it. It was a fun (and incredibly expensive) evening. Obama is a smart and interesting man.
